Join us for an Adoption Day Celebration!

The WV Recruitment and Retention Collaborative invites you to a day of celebration in honor of National Adoption Day. On November 20th starting at 2PM, participants can explore the Clay Center's Avampato Discovery Museum, which houses two floors of hand-on exhibits featuring more than 12,000 square feet of nonstop fun. At 4:30 we will head to the Intermezzo Cafe for refreshments and to hear guest speakers. Ending the celebration at 6 o'clock we will hold a candlelight ceremony outside of the Clay Center. 2009 National Adoption Month Save the Date!

Hey everyone! Please reserve November 21st on your calendar because you are going to be busy that day hanging with us!

On Saturday November 21st we are getting together at the Clay Center in Charleston for some fun at the museum followed by snacks, cake, hot chocolate!, and a candlelight vigil in celebration of National Adoption Month. We plan to have several great speakers and this event provides a great opportunity for West Virginians to join together to celebrate adoptions and remember the hundreds of thousands of children who are currently in foster care.

2009 Drawing Contest

In celebration of National Adoption Month, which is November, we are having a drawing contest that is open to foster and adopted children/youth who live in West Virginia and are between the ages of 4 to 18. With four age groups, there will a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prize for each age group and the Grand Prize Winner will receive the prize of a digital camera that was donated by an anonymous sponsor!

The theme for the contest this year is "My Dreams." Last year's theme was "Family" and the photos posted on this blog post are from the 2008 Drawing Contest.

The art will be displayed at different locations throughout the month of November during events that celebration National Adoption Month.
